Spray-Painted Doors
Spray application gives a hard, even finish that brushes and rollers cannot match on flat cabinet fronts. We remove doors, hinges, and handles before spraying in a controlled environment, eliminating brush marks and drips entirely.
Once dry and cured, doors are re-hung and hardware refitted. Most kitchens are back in use within two to three days. For a full interior painting project that includes adjacent rooms, we coordinate timings so the kitchen is the last space disrupted.
Solid Wood vs MDF Cabinets
Solid wood doors need thorough sanding to cut through any existing lacquer or wax layer. MDF doors absorb primer differently and need a specialist primer coat before the top coats go on.
We identify the door material at the quoting stage and select the correct primer and paint system for that surface. There is no guesswork involved.
Cabinet Colour Selection
Changing cabinet colour is the most common reason clients call us. Shaker-style doors in north-facing Lincoln kitchens often benefit from warmer whites and off-whites rather than cool greys, which can look flat in low light.
We work with any trade or retail paint brand. Popular choices include Farrow and Ball, Little Greene, and Dulux Trade. We supply all materials unless the client has a specific preference.
Cabinet Painting vs Replacement
A full kitchen replacement typically costs £8,000 to £25,000 depending on size and scope. A professional spray paint job on the same units costs a fraction of that and uses the same carcasses and layout you already know.
If the carcasses and drawers are sound, repainting is almost always the better investment. We assess this honestly at the quote stage.
Worktops and Carcasses
Carcass interiors and door interiors are painted when requested. This is worth doing if the existing interior colour is dark and you are switching to a light door colour, as the contrast becomes visible when doors are open.
We do not resurface worktops, but edges are cut in cleanly around them and all surfaces protected during the spraying process. Overspray protection is part of every job.

Here’s How It Works
1. Free Quote
We visit, check door materials and condition, count doors and frames, and give you a fixed price before any work starts.
2. Preparation
We degrease all surfaces, fill any chips or small damage, and sand back where needed. Handles and hinges are removed.
3. Primer Coat
A specialist primer is applied to the correct surface type — wood or MDF — and allowed to cure fully before top coats begin.
4. Spray Application
Doors are sprayed off-site or in a protected area. Frames are sprayed or brushed in situ with full masking protection.
5. Rehang and Inspect
Doors are re-hung, hardware refitted, and every door checked for coverage before we leave.

Kitchen Cabinet Painting Costs in Lincoln
Prices below are estimates only. Every kitchen is different. Call 01522 457080 for a precise quote.

Door Count and Size
More doors or large larder doors take longer to spray and cure. Each additional door adds to the overall time.
A full kitchen cabinet repaint typically ranges from £900 to £2,500 depending on the number of doors, condition, and whether frames are included.
Surface Condition
Doors with peeling lacquer, deep chips, or water damage need more preparation time. Poor preparation cannot be skipped or the finish will fail.
For a combined job that also includes house painting in other areas, we can agree a single visit to minimise disruption.
Colour Change vs Refresh
Switching from a dark colour to a light one may require an additional primer coat to achieve full coverage. Typical ranges: a 10-door kitchen in a 1950s semi in Bracebridge Heath costs £1,400 to £2,200; an 8-door kitchen in a 1970s semi in North Hykeham costs £900 to £1,400.
A 12-door kitchen in a detached property in Nettleham, including carcass interiors, typically costs £1,800 to £2,800.
Combined Project Savings
For a combined job that includes ceiling painting or dining room painting in adjacent rooms, we coordinate visits to reduce disruption and overall cost.
We can also combine with hallway painting or bathroom painting for a full interior refresh.
Trade insight. A full colour change from dark units to a light shade almost always needs three coats rather than two. Budget accordingly and be cautious of quotes that promise a colour change in two coats.
