3. Scheduled Work

We agree a start date and work through the property room by room. Furniture and floors are protected throughout. Each completed room is left usable at the end of the day.

4. Final Walkthrough

Before we leave, we walk the finished property with you. Anything that falls short of the standard is put right on the spot.

Shed Painting FAQs

How often does a garden shed need painting?

A shed treated with a quality preservative or exterior stain typically needs retreating every two to three years. Sheds in shaded positions or against north-facing walls may need attention sooner due to persistent damp and algae growth.

What is the best product for a wooden shed?

It depends on the timber. For pressure-treated timber, a quality shed and fence stain is usually sufficient. For older, untreated, or rougher timber, a preservative base coat followed by an exterior stain or paint gives better long-term results. We advise on the right system at the site visit.

Can you paint the inside of the shed as well?

Yes. Internal walls and roof panels can be treated with a fungicidal wash and interior preservative coating. This is worth doing on older sheds where moisture has been getting in. We include it if the brief requires it.

Do you paint the roof of the shed?

Felt roofs are not painted. Timber or shingle roofs can be treated with a roof paint or sealant. Where a shed has a porch or canopy roof above the door, we include that in the exterior treatment.

Can I choose a custom colour rather than standard brown or green?

Yes. We can apply almost any exterior colour to a shed or outbuilding. Many clients in Gainsborough and Grantham choose a colour that ties the shed into the rest of their garden scheme. We bring colour cards and advise on what works well in garden settings.

Is it worth painting an old or cheap shed?

If the timber structure is sound, treating it is always worthwhile. A good treatment extends the life of a shed by several years and costs far less than replacement. We check for active rot before quoting. If the timber has deteriorated beyond treatment, we tell you honestly.
